OET Reading Mock Exams – Computer-Based Exam Simulator

OET Ultimacy's Reading Mock Simulator replicates the official OET interface — side-by-side scrolling text columns, a live countdown timer, single-click multiple-choice navigation, and gap-fill inputs. It hosts 56 full-length exams across four collections: the Jahshan Collection (21 exams), Benchmark Mock Tests (20 exams), Official OET Sample Tests (5 exams), and the exclusive Ultimacy Special Collection (10 exams). Every exam covers all three OET Reading parts — Part A (15 minutes, 20 questions), Part B (6 short texts) and Part C (16 questions), with Parts B and C sharing a 45-minute block, for a 60-minute exam scored automatically out of 42, with per-question explanations by certified OET instructor and medical doctor Dr Ahmed Elgendy. You can try the first Jahshan exam free — no account or credit card — to judge the quality; full access is part of an affordable Ultimacy Premium subscription.

OET Reading format: Parts A, B and C

The OET Reading subtest assesses how well healthcare professionals read and understand workplace and clinical texts. It has 42 questions across three parts and lasts 60 minutes in total: Part A is timed separately (15 minutes); Parts B and C share a 45-minute block. The simulator trains all three under official timing.

15 minutes (timed separately)

Part A

Expeditious reading: four short clinical texts and 20 questions (summary matching, sentence completion, short answer). The simulator keeps Part A on its own timer, exactly like the real exam.

Within a 45-minute Part B + C block

Part B

Six short workplace texts — guidelines, policies, emails — each with one multiple-choice question testing detail and gist.

Within a 45-minute Part B + C block

Part C

Two long clinical articles (~800 words each) with eight multiple-choice questions each — 16 in total — testing deep comprehension, attitude and inference.

Frequently asked questions (OET Reading FAQ)

How does the OET Reading practice simulator work?
The OET Reading simulator replicates the official computer-based OET exam interface. You practise Part A (expeditious reading and summary matching), Part B (workplace policy and guideline multiple-choice), and Part C (detailed clinical text analysis). The system includes an authentic countdown timer, a side-by-side reading layout, single-click navigation, and automatic scoring out of 42 — the same structure you will face on exam day.
Can I try an OET Reading mock exam for free?
Yes. The first exam in the Jahshan Collection is free to try, with no account and no credit card. It runs the full 60-minute OET Reading format (Part A, Part B and Part C) and returns a complete scored result out of 42 with per-question explanations, so you can judge the quality before you decide. It is a free trial of one exam — not a free service.
Is the OET Reading simulator free, or is it a subscription?
It is part of Ultimacy Premium, an affordable subscription that bundles 15 features in a single plan — the Reading mock simulator plus 14 more study tools (verified exam recalls, OET Writing mocks, premium vocabulary, a global leaderboard, in-context translation into 85+ languages, and more). You can try the first exam free to test the quality, then subscribe to unlock all 56 mocks and every other feature. Plans are available for 1, 3 or 6 months, and a 3-day free trial lets you explore everything risk-free. See the Ultimacy Premium page for current pricing.
What is the best free OET Reading practice test?
OET Ultimacy's Reading simulator is a strong option to try free: the first full exam is free with no account, scored automatically out of 42, with per-question explanations by a certified OET instructor — so you can judge the quality before committing. Unlike a static PDF, it runs in a real computer-based interface with a live timer, so the free exam doubles as a realistic exam-day rehearsal. Full access (56 mocks plus 14 more features) is an affordable Ultimacy Premium subscription rather than a free service.
What OET Reading collections are available?
Four collections are available: the Jahshan Collection (21 exams), Benchmark Mock Tests (20 exams), Official OET Sample Tests (5 exams), and the exclusive Ultimacy Special Collection (10 exams curated by Dr Ahmed Elgendy) — 56 full-length mock exams in total, all aligned with current 2026 OET standards.
Does the OET Reading practice include answer explanations?
Yes. Every question includes a detailed justification written by certified OET instructor and medical doctor Dr Ahmed Elgendy, explaining why each option is correct or incorrect with references back to the source text. The explanations are reviewed for clinical accuracy and alignment with current OET marking criteria.
Does OET Ultimacy track my OET Reading scores?
Yes. Registered users can view their full attempt history, track the highest score achieved on each exam, and identify which OET Reading parts (A, B or C) need the most attention before the real exam.
