OET Study Partner: find a study partner who sits OET when you do
OET Study Partner is a section of OET Ultimacy, free with any account, where healthcare professionals preparing for the Occupational English Test (OET) find a study partner. Create a card with your first name, exam date, profession and what you want to practise, press Join, and your best matches are already waiting: people who sit OET when you do, in your profession, with your goals and your mother language. You chat on the website, practise Speaking role plays, swap Writing letters and study in groups of up to 10, with no phone numbers or emails on any card.

How to find an OET study partner in under a minute
- Create your card. One minute. You decide what others see: your first name, exam date, profession and what you want to practise.
- See your best matches. The people closest to your exam, profession and goals come first.
- Send a request. One short message. They can accept, decline or block, and requests cannot include phone numbers, links, emails or usernames.
- Chat and practise. Swap role plays, mark each other's letters, or start a study group.
Timed at a normal reading pace, a new member reached real best matches in about 49 seconds, from opening the page to the first matched card.
How your best matches are chosen
Matched to you: people who sit OET when you do, in your profession, with your goals. Not booked yet? Meet others who are still choosing a date. Every card says why it matches you, for example "Exam within a week of yours · Medicine · Arabic".
Exam date
People whose exam falls in the same weeks as yours come first, so you prepare on the same timeline.
Profession
Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Physiotherapy or another OET profession, so your role plays and letters fit your work.
What you want to practise
Speaking role-play partner, Writing feedback swap, daily accountability, group study, or Reading and Listening practice.
Mother language
Someone who shares your first language knows the mistakes it makes in English.
What is on a partner card
First name and profession
Your first name only, and your profession.
Exam month
The month of your exam and the weeks to go, like "Jan 2027, in 10 weeks". Never the exact date.
Target and attempt
Grade B (350), Grade C+ (300) or not sure yet, and whether it is your first attempt or a retake.
Your goals
What you want to practise, so the right people find you.
Study times and local time
Morning, afternoon, evening or night, and your local time, so you can plan sessions across time zones.
Mother language and About me
Your first language, and a short note in your own words if you want one.
Private by design
First name only. No phone numbers or emails on any card. You choose who can see you, and you can hide your card at any time.
- Who I study with. Women only, men only or anyone. People outside your choice never see your card, and you do not see theirs. Nobody sees the choice itself.
- Show my card. Turn it off and nobody can find you or send you new requests. Your chats and groups keep working.
- No contact details on cards or in requests. Phone numbers, links, emails and usernames are refused. You decide if and when to share a number in a chat. OET Ultimacy cannot check who anyone is, so share only when you are comfortable.
- A respectful space. Study Partner is for serious OET preparation. Be kind, respect each other's privacy and keep it professional. Report or block anyone in one tap.
What you can practise with your partner
- OET Speaking role plays. Take turns as the health professional and the patient with our OET Speaking cards: 3 minutes to prepare and 5 minutes to speak, like the exam, then feedback and swap. For a full exam-style run, try the OET Speaking mocks.
- Writing feedback swaps. Write a letter in OET Writing practice with the exam timer and word counter, then mark each other's letters.
- Daily accountability. Agree a plan, check in every day and keep each other on track. The OET study planner builds the plan for you.
- Reading and Listening. Sit the same OET Listening mocks or OET Reading mocks and compare answers, drill Listening Part A spelling, learn the OET vocabulary of Parts B and C, and go through the latest OET exam recalls together.
