You often see everyone asking about "recalls" and where to find them. Naturally, several questions might come to your mind: What are recalls? Where can you get them? Are they really that important? Are they available for free or paid? What exam sections do they cover?

What Are Recalls?

Recalls are specifically the vocabulary words from Listening Part A that appeared in previous OET exams. These words are reported to us directly by fellow candidates immediately after each test.

Why Are They So Important?

Recalls are considered an essential resource for studying the listening sub-test because they significantly boost your chances of achieving a perfect score in Listening Part A. If you are struggling with the listening section, recalls can act as a magic solution and a key factor in your success.

High Repeat Rate

These words are repeated in almost every exam. It is extremely rare for the exam Part A blanks to fall outside the OET Ultimacy list. Simply put, securing a 24/24 is highly guaranteed. However, it is important to note that occasionally, a maximum of one or two simple and easy words might appear outside the recalls list.

How Can You Get the Recalls?

You can access the recalls through one of three ways:

Expert Advice for Studying Recalls

Reading Is Not Enough

Merely reading the words from the file is insufficient. You must actively practice both the pronunciation and the spelling using either the free or the paid website.

Consistency and Repetition

You must start practicing the recalls from day one and continue right up until the day of your exam. Do not restrict your practice to just the period right before the test or only at the beginning of your preparation. Simply going through the list once is not the end; rather, you must repeat them multiple times until you have mastered them 100%.
